On ice for now!
Hi there! We´re on ice.Per is building a new studio so the recordings are on a break.
Soon,
Sandy
Day 7
Martinique and Per were alone in the studio today. Per did the drums on the 150bpm song. He played them like a robot. Stiff and tight with old cloths on the snare and toms. Even some extra Gaffa tape on the hi-hat and cymbals. But before then Martinique played a guitar at the end of the areana song...remember? Actually there were two guitars creating a nice Wembley feeling.Ok back to the current song. The drums came out great. Then we used a Teisco synth for the bass, abit tricky since it is a mono synth. A great Bass Tuba did the job. On the verse and chorus a Philips Phlicorda organ saved us with it´s creamy smooth sound (just the type Martinique loves).
Next session will be guitars and vocals. Hopefully a week from now.
Now to something different: Martinique got sweaty palms, Helena got sweaty palm and Ola felt sick several hours after watching this clip. How will you react? (Please shear it with us in our guestbook :-)
Later!

Homework
The 179bpm song has been modified. It now has the speed of 150bpm.Me, Martinique had a day off and after a careful evaluation of the song that we recorded day 6 the following changes have been made:
1: New bass line (more discoish)
2: New chord progression on the verse (gives it more depth, the first version was too childish. Per is still evaluating this :-)
3: New intro (positive two-line guitar action)
4: New lyrics on the chorus (so that you can remember it)
The next thing on our schedule is a rehersal, to give us some new ideas on how to arrange the coming songs.
Talk to you soon...

Pagani Zonda F: Probably the most perfect car in the world and one of
my favourite super cars. It can definitely handle 179km/h. Experiense it.
Day 6
Hello again, yes we are updating the page quite often now and we are glad that you are following the recording of the year.Today we started recording probably the fastest song on the album. Per was abit scared when he realised that it was a 179bpm song. The fact that he had a cold and was feeling abit saggy didn´t encourage him. Yet he put on his blue basket ball shoes and was ready to hit the toms at a speed he had never recorded. When Per is behind the drums it is Martinique who sets the parameters in the computer so that there is no chance of distortion. This time he had to lower everything since Per was hitting so hard.
After three takes the drums were recorded and Per was even more saggy and sweaty. Great work man. The drums came out pretty punky which we liked.
Then it was bass time! Martinique and Per sat down and tried to figure out the best way to match the bass line with the drums. It ended in a pretty straight forward bass lick with variations in both verse and chorus =). That was all we had time for today and next time we think a nice piano will suit this song. Thank you for reading.

Day 4 & 5
We started day four with a piano song. Per came up with the great idea to dub the grand piano one octave higher. Came out sweet och crisp. This song Martinique is singing alone. It´s a soft one for all of you who like to sit in the sofa with the one you love and with your feet off the ground. Maybe you have lit the fireplace too.The day before yesterday was the 5th day in the studio. We started working on a song that Martinique had written for his solo project at first but after trying it with Sandy Mouche it finally fell in to place. It´s an arena song. It´s almost impossible to play this one on a small stage. It could work but it´s real environment is on the big arenas. The first acoustic guitar was recorded here and after a few different angles on the mic plus a line in we found the sound we were looking for. We used the Akg mic here and Per´s "Runesson" guitar and quite frankly we were amazed by the result. Since this is our fist album that we record on our own you discover new things and sounds every session. It´s nice. This song is only about three minutes long and built lika a mountain, you climb and climb all the way to the top and then you take the big leap from the cliff ledge...

Day 2 & 3
Hi again. Been in the studio now once a week and we are starting to get used to the drill. The first song is almost finished now after some drastic changes in the structure of the song. We all realised that we could make this song even more clean and honest so Per chopped of some parts (just like Dexter) of the song.Helena and Martinique sang the lead vocals through the all new AKG C414 XL ll. It did a great job with our voices bringing it to a level that´s just perfect and enjoyable. The vers is sung in the same pitch but in the chorus our voices break apart and create a lovely atmosphere to the song.
Per recorded some percussion, tambourine, egg and an extra snare that let´s you feel the marching band. The song will be dangerous to listen to in a car when your driving.
We ate owen baked pork pancake with mushrooms, leek, butter (new to some but they loved it), lingonberry and a green sallad.
Stick around for more updatetes and photos. HERE are the photos from the latest sessions.

Day 1
Seems like ages since we were in the studio together but now the first day is over and it feels so right. Today Per did the drums on two songs and Martinique played the bass on one of them. Ola began recording the guitar on the same one which will be a driver´s song =)Per did the drums in one take (he is really fast this guy) and it sounds better then we could ever imagine. The snare is punchy but soft and the hole kit is just surfing on some perfect waves.
The bass was run through a Vox Ac30 amp (yeah, I know....CRAZY!!) and was lined to. Turned out to deliver a soft yet distinctive bass sound with alot of body without killing the string presence.
Olas guitar on the driver´s song will be a mixture of dry and wet. The dry is already there.

The next session will take place next week, saturday or sunday. Stay tuned.

Rehearsal 1
We tried two new songs and they turned out great. Helena played an awesome glue syth and sang, Ola played a lovely space guitar, Per drummed like a groove machine, Martinique played a tight bass and sang.It was a great start and we had so much fun. We even forgot to take some photos while playing. This saturday we will have our first studio session and record the two new songs. Stay tuned for details.
